Summary:

Verify and maintain records of incoming and outgoing shipments for Mile Marker’s customers. Duties include the preparation of bill of lading, shipping orders, labels, rate quotation, and pick up/delivery arrangements with carriers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

•      Prepares shipping and receiving documentation; maintains orderly files for all documentation.

•      Participates in scheduling of daily transportation.

•      Assists in maintaining material inventory levels.

•      Assists in responses to requests for tracing of missing shipments.

•      Provides a daily summary to inform supervisors about the work accomplished.

•      Performs required administrative tasks; prepares all required reports and correspondence.

•      Maintains work area clean and orderly while following safety regulations.

•      Determine best shipping methods, routes, or rates for materials.

•      Record shipping information.

•      Enters shipping information into company’s databases.

•      Adding and creating WO, picking, and pulling parts to build. Be able to input into NetSuite, NetSuite, shopify shipping.

•      Print pick tickets; creates manufacturing orders; isolates pick tickets for packing and weighing.

•      Process picks tickets based on buyer’s preferred method (i.e., USPS, UPS, FED EX, LTL, etc.).

•      Examine shipping documentation before shipping, such as sales orders, packing list and invoices to verify accuracy.

•      Ability to follow, interpret and apply special shipping directions to conform with all requirements established by the military and ISO.

•           Assisting shipping clerks when/if needed (being able to lift to 100 lbs. is required)

•           Able to assist in all warehouse maintenance / cleanup efforts.

•           Able to operate forklift / stand up lift. (will train to be certified)



Required Education and Experience

•      High school diploma or GED, or equivalent years of experience.

•      5 years of prior experience.

•      Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills

•      Intermediate mathematical abilities

•      Proficient in Microsoft Office, and Internet.

•      Forklift experience, FedEx shipping Manager, and WorldShip

Preferred Education

•      Technical training on shipping methods and best practices.

•      2-year degree from an accredited institution.

Supervisory  Responsibility 

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Need to be able to use a forklift/ picker to perform picking duties.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit for longer periods. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds regularly, sometimes up to 50 pounds, and at times with help up to 100 pounds.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
